Who wants to know what divides successful people from unsuccessful people?
Well, whether you want to or not, I’m going to post this anyway…sorry ahahahahah.
So, in my opinion, the best book ever written is called The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. (Jeff, if you ever one day read this, you are literally one of the most inspired people that I have never met). This book compares life to the compound interest curve, and for those of you who are not familiar with what that curve looks like, here it is:
The reason why Jeff Olson compares life to the curve of compound interest is because we can’t see the results of our labor tomorrow, or even the day or maybe even the week or month or year after that. The point is the results come after days and days of constant effort towards a goal that we probably won’t achieve for a while.
The way I like to think about it is, I am not necessarily living for tomorrow, or next week, I’m living for net year, or five years from now, because the choices I make today are so that I can achieve goals far into the future.
Guys those who don’t have goals only live for today. That’s what separated successful people (and I’m not just talking about financial success) from unsuccessful people. People who get something out of this life, are people who know that they probably won’t see the results of their hard work until way later, but they are still doing the hard work.
Guys make goals, I promise you that your future self will be extremely grateful!
