Safe and Self Sufficient
When we first started learning about essential oils, we quickly discovered their ease and versatility. They are great tools to sustain healthy nutrition, support our active lifestyle, manage stress or other emotional situations, and help in our efforts to be self sufficient. The most important part of all of this, though, is that they are safe, simple, and effective. When essential oils are produced in both an eco- and self-conscious way, the magic happens.
What do we mean by eco-conscious and self-conscious?
Well, most essential oils are engineered or produced synthetically. These often have zero benefits beyond a particular smell or taste. Some oils are produced that are adulterated (intentionally or unintentionally) through the addition of chemicals or additives. Others are diluted with carrier oils (typically to hit a particular price point in the market). We have found one brand that unapologetically produces completely pure, unadulterated, undiluted essential oils in a sustainable way.

So, what’s the big deal about quality?
The short answer is that in the world of essential oils purity is directly related to potency (how powerful and effective they are). There is a million ways that an oil can become less pure, and many are not readily apparent to us as consumers. These include: a less healthy plant or growing season, contaminants gathers from the harvesting process, ineffective distillation procedures or processes, or even the transportation. Not all of these are harmless; it is potentially more than an oil that works less well. Some of them introduce substances that are actually harmful in various ways. So, if you are like us and want to use oils to support your life, be sure that you understand their quality.
Sustainability
Essential oils are not just about you, its about the environment and the communities that produce them. Combined with perfectly pure essential oils, this is the part that moves us the most. Of course, we can talk about the fact that using essential oils is sustainable for the consumer because it is easy and effective, meaning that it is a sustainable choice for healthcare and wellness. But the really amazing part is what happens when a company focuses as much of its attention on its suppliers as it does on its customers. This sort of sustainability is the company’s self-imposed responsibility to take extra good care of the communities that produce the plants that produce essential oils. You see, if the company were only interested in the product and not the suppliers they might be able to supply great oils for a time, but at some point the abuse to the land, plants, and people would begin to show. Ultimately, that selfish approach would burn itself out. Instead, it takes extra care to be sure that the supply chain is sustainable at every step. This model is called Co-Impact Sourcing.
